Indonesian women’s tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi advanced to the round of 16 in women’s doubles at the Indian Wells Masters, Sunday (10/3) WIB.

Aldila, who was paired with Japanese tennis player Miyu Kato, won over the pair Shuai Zhang/Anna Danilina with a score of 7-5, 2-6 and 10-1.

“The match was tight because both pairs performed well. They managed to win in the second set but we recovered in the third set and managed to win,” said Aldila in a written statement, Sunday (10/3).

“We ask for your support in the round of 16,” he continued.

In the first set, Aldila/Kato managed to win 7-5 but then lost the second set 2-6 so the match had to continue with the third set.

In the deciding set, Aldila/Kato performed extraordinary and dominated the game. They won 10 points in a row to win the third set with a score of 10-1.

In the round of 16 of the Indian Wells Masters, Aldila/Kato will face the pair Su Wei Hsieh/Elise Mertens, who are the first seeds.

Last year, the Aldila/Kato pair performed well at the Indian Wells Masters. They managed to reach the semifinals before being defeated by the pair Beatriz Haddad Maia/Laura Siegemund 1-6 and 2-6. (Ant/Z-1)
