Alcoholic drinks are usually true calorie bombs. If consumed regularly, they are not only unhealthy, but also cause a beer belly.
München ‒ A glass of honor, no one can refuse – is the idiom in German vernacular. But let’s be honest, usually a glass of Prosecco or beer turns into two or three glasses in a convivial atmosphere. And on hot days, a well-chilled white wine, a bottle of hops and a refreshing cocktail somehow taste even better than during the cold season. Who would want to say “no” and practice renunciation? Only a sober look in the mirror might prevent connoisseurs from doing so. Because alcohol makes you fat. It makes it harder to burn fat. Some drinks are even real calorie bombs. So if you think it’s better to avoid solid food during a diet and prefer to use the bottle instead, this recipe will have little success. It’s probably easier to follow the instructions “Slim while you sleep” or with the time model of intermittent fasting.
Calorie bombs from the jar: The liquid fatteners
A gram of alcohol contains noisy oe24.at regarding seven kilocalories (kcal). In comparison, one gram of fat contains around nine calories, while carbohydrates and protein have four kcal per gram. The values therefore clearly speak for eating and avoiding fatty foods. When looking at the values of alcoholic beverages, it doesn’t look any better. According to the report, a glass of sparkling wine already contains around 80 calories.

Anyone who reaches for hard liquor from the bottle such as vodka, rum, whiskey or gin will certainly find it even more difficult to lose pounds during a diet. Vodka, for example, has 234 kcal per 100 ml, and gin even has 262 kcal. Rum has 246 kcal and whiskey with 246 kcal.
Calorie bombs from the glass: These long drinks make you fat
The values are even worse for mixed drinks and cocktails, which are usually mixed with cardboard-sweet liqueurs, sugary syrups or high-calorie juices. A 300 ml Caipirinha provides connoisseurs with 323 kcal, a Pina Colada (400 ml) has 367 kcal, a cocktail glass with a Tequila Sunrise – one of the trend drinks of the past year – contains 360 kcal, a Daiquiri 121 kcal and a glass of Mai Tai around 290 kcal. The popular Mojito with crushed ice has 152 kcal and a Cuba Libre has 160 kcal. A Campari orange weighs in at 170 kcal on hot summer days. A well-mixed gin and tonic with 110 kcal is almost a recommendable diet soft drink for the “drunk” belly fat. But beware: It is not uncommon for one glass to be the last. If you drink two or three of these cocktails at the same time, you will have consumed your entire daily calorie requirement in no time at all.
This is how alcohol affects the human body
Alcohol affects metabolism and can make it difficult to lose weight. Because the human body breaks down alcohol first instead of burning fat. In addition, “alcohol stimulates the appetite and makes you eat more than usual,” explain the nutritionists of oviva.com. If you want to lose weight, you don’t necessarily have to give up alcohol. But it depends on how much alcohol and how often alcohol is drunk. It is therefore best when dieting to drink alcohol in moderation. A glass of wine or beer need not interfere with slimming, according to the report.
If you still don’t want to go without a glass during a diet, nutritionists recommend paying attention to the type of alcohol. “Try to limit your consumption of beer and sweet, sugary cocktails as they are often high in calories,” is one expert tip. Incidentally, these are the most popular types of beer in Germany. Drinking water between alcoholic beverages can also help reduce alcohol consumption. This makes you feel full faster. But there are also plenty of good non-alcoholic cocktails.

Last but not least, there are of course also good alternatives without alcohol. For example water with lemon or cucumber slices, smoothies or herbal teas.
