For swimmer Alberto Mestre, a member of the Venezuelan delegation, it was a true honor to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as it allowed him to defend the country’s colors.
The merman, who did not make it past the preliminary rounds of the 50 and 100 metre freestyle, thinks that sharing the Aquatic Sports Centre with the best exponents of his discipline is something he will remember for all eternity.
“I will always remember Paris. It was an event to which I was invited and it was truly an honor to be able to compete and represent Venezuela,” said Aloys Marín, representative of the press department of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee (COV).

He feels he has gained experience and hopes to excel in the new cycle that will conclude in Los Angeles 2028.
“I’m happy to have been in Paris, which were my second Olympic Games. I achieved my goal of feeling good in the pool and now I have to focus on what comes next,” Mestre added.
