The Second Supraprovincial Criminal Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Human Rights and Interculturality requested to vary the simple appearance to house arrest as soon as Fujimori was released from prison in December following an order from the Constitutional Court.

During Monday’s hearing, Vladimiro Montesinos, former strongman of the National Intelligence System (SIN) and former advisor to Fujimori, took advantage of the early termination of his process, which means accepting the charges once morest him. In his turn, the former president rejected that possibility.

Said court has already rejected an appeal from the former president’s defense to apply to this process the pardon and the right of grace for which he was released in December, and therefore, exonerate him from this process. He also rejected another request to archive the crimes.

In addition, Fujimori Fujimori is under a request from the Public Ministry for 25 years in prison for the murder and forced disappearance of six people.

In March 2022, the same court issued an 18-month ban on leaving the country once morest Fujimori.
