Within the framework of the gender-based violence case against him, Alberto Fernandez again maintained the same defense strategy by delivering the witness statements to the notary in closed and sealed envelopes. In this case, he presented the testimony of “Witness G”, who denied the assault and stated that Fabiola Yáñez’s bruises came from “beauty treatments”.

Along those lines, he also called the relationship between the former first lady and the former president “normal,” although he acknowledged that discussions did take place.

This is the second witness for Fernandez to appear in court in this way, after “Witness A” stated that Yanez’s beating was caused by a fall caused by the consumption of alcoholic drinks.

Now, this new statement explains the so-called cosmetic treatment. Both pieces of testimony harked back to arguments previously made by the former president.

Along these lines, Silvina Carreira, the lawyer responsible for Fernandez’s defense, was the one who provided a notarized statement for the last witness who had to testify before justice.

“Prosecutors will be required to call him to testify, just as Witness A was required to do,” he wrote.
