President Alberto Fernández will travel today to the city of Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, to participate in the XXVIII Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Governmentin which topics such as the environmental crisis, digital transformation, food security and international financial architecture will be addressed.
As officially reported, the plane that will transport Fernández and his entourage will leave at 10 from the Ministro Pistarini International Airport, in Ezeiza, and will land at the Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo at 4:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. in Argentina).
The head of state will participate today at 7:00 p.m. (20 in Argentina) in the Opening Ceremony of the XXVIII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Ibero-American Conference, in Fortaleza Santo Domingo, Colonial Zone. In this framework, he will also hold a meeting with leaders of America to analyze irregular migration on the continent.
At 8:30 p.m. today (9:30 p.m. in Argentina) he will take part of the official meal offered by Dominican President Luís Abinader at the Casa de Bastidas, Colonial Zone.
While, tomorrow Saturday at 8.35 (9.35 in Argentina), Fernández will meet with the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borrell, at the Embajador hotel.
A little later, at 9 (10 in Argentina) you will arrive at the Convention Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the Summit will be held.

Likewise, andThe Argentine head of state will meet with the heads of state of Spain and Portugal, with whom he will analyze aspects related to the Mercosur-European Union (EU) agreement, by virtue of the pro tempore Presidency that Argentina holds in this semester, and Spain that of the EU in the second semester.
At the moment there is a work schedule between both parties with a view to intensifying the negotiations to reach a mutually beneficial and balanced agreement.
In that sense The importance of the EU-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) summit will also be highlighted, which will be held in Brussels in July of this year and which will be a great opportunity to relaunch relations between Latin America and Europe, since it has not been held since 2015 and represents a high-level political dialogue, following years without dialogue with the EU .

At 7:30 p.m., Fernández will participate in the forum of Progressive Governments “For a sustainable and resilient social agenda in Latin America” at the invitation of the President of the Spanish Government, in his capacity as President of the Socialist International, Pedro Sánchez.
The chancellor Santiago Cafiero will also participate on Friday in the II Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
The 22 member countries of the Ibero-American Summit, speaking Spanish and Portuguese, are Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay and Venezuela.
