Alberto Fernández and attack on CFK: The weapon had five bullets and was not fired despite being triggered

The Argentine President, Alberto Fernández, assured that the weapon with which former president Cristina Fernández was attacked had “five bullets” and announced that this Friday will be a national holiday.

In a speech made on Thursday night, the president assured that “Cristina remains alive, because for a reason not yet technically confirmed, the weapon that had five bullets did not fire despite having been triggered. Such a reality moves the entire Argentine people and in particular those of us who are her colleagues, who embrace her in solidarity with all our love.

“This attack deserves the strongest repudiation of all Argentine society, of all political sectors, of all the men and women of the republic, because these events affect our democracy,” he said.

Fernández insisted that “we are obliged to recover democratic coexistence that has been broken by hate speech, which has spread from different political, judicial and media spaces in Argentine society.”

“Our vice president has been attacked and social peace has been disturbed. Argentina cannot lose another minute, there is no more time, it is necessary to banish violence and hatred,” he added.

The president announced that “I have arranged to declare tomorrow a national holidayso that in peace and harmony the Argentine people can express themselves, in defense of life, of democracy and in solidarity with our vice president”.
