Bordeaux has reached an agreement with Albert Riera to become its new coach, replacing David Guion who was dismissed on Saturday.
Bordeaux has the replacement for David Guion. The Girondins have reached an agreement with Albert Riera, former player of the club (2003-2005), to become their new coach. The Spaniard is currently stationed at NK Celje, leader of the Slovenian championship. The former midfielder, who played for Liverpool, Manchester City and Espanyol Barcelona, is expected on Tuesday to sign a two-year contract, plus an optional year conditional on results. He is expected to lead his first session on Wednesday.

In Bordeaux, he will aim to bring the club back into Ligue 1 following its descent in 2022, and a few months following the failure of its promotion on the last day with the attack of a supporter on a Rodez player.
