She is one of the artists in the autumn round of “So much better”.
But soon something even better awaits Alba August, who is pregnant with her first child.
– It really feels great fun, she says to Aftonbladet.
The actor and artist Alba August, 31, is one of the participants in this year’s edition of “So much better”, which was recorded on Gotland this summer and will be shown later this autumn.
But for her it was not obvious to say yes.
– If I had been asked a few years ago, I probably wouldn’t have known that it was my thing at all. I have no need to show off just for the sake of it.
– But now I was so excited for creative challenges. Being able to interpret songs and being able to do it on TV I think feels great fun. It’s so hard to reach out with music today. There are so many people who don’t even know that I sing, but here you reach out to a wider mass. I’m also at a place in life now where I just want to have fun.

“Afraid to screw up”
But Alba August explains that it was not as she thought and that she felt a little anxiety before the recording.
– I was very, very nervous about the social thing. I was afraid of screwing up and having social panic and also afraid of being eaten by cameras and other people. But it was absolutely wonderful to hang out with the others, she says and tells us that it got emotional at times:
– It was a bit like being at one’s own funeral. You got to hear friends and family talk about you in an incredibly nice way. It was very touching stuff. Seeing his life and career from the outside was really emotional.
During the summer, Alba August also recorded an upcoming EP together with love and the star producer Pontus Winnberg49, who is part of the hit duo “Bloodshy & Avant”.
– It is called “Alice” and is inspired by a performance that I will also do this autumn, where I play a character called Alice. It is also my first EP in Swedish.
Working together with the boyfriend was a highlight in several ways.
– I have such incredible respect for Pontus as a producer. He has done some of my favorite songs like Britney Spears “Toxic”. He is my closest person in life, but at the same time I had to pinch myself in the arm. It has been absolutely wonderful and our brains were so welded together and it went so smoothly.

Now the couple is expecting their first child
Alba August and Pontus Winnberg have been a couple for two years and she tells Aftonbladet that they will soon become parents.
– I am pregnant. It really feels great fun and now it really shows that I am. Everything just feels so funny. Life…
But like so many others, Alba August had a tough start to her pregnancy.
– At the beginning I felt pissed off and just wanted to die. But now I’m just fine. I’m halfway there now. Pontus has had children since before and it is very luxurious to be born into a family with lots of cute siblings. I haven’t even understood that I’m waiting a lifetime. But I take one month at a time.
