The new component 10 of the Braunau St. Josef Hospital is on fire – for this scenario, which will hopefully never actually occur, we will practice tomorrow, Thursday, March 14th, in and around the Braunau Hospital. More than 250 people will be present and around 40 alleged victims will have to be rescued. Exercise observers and employees from Braunau Hospital are also taking part in the large-scale exercise. Alert level 3 is triggered, eleven fire departments are alerted, as well as the section and district fire brigade command as well as the fire brigade’s operational management support. The exercise begins at around 6 p.m. and is expected to last around three hours. There may be traffic delays around the hospital, Filzmoser-Wiese and Konrad-Meindl-Straße. Some of the emergency vehicles will also be on the road with flashing lights and sirens. “For the first time, the new component 10 will be the venue for a fire brigade exercise. This will ensure that the fire brigades are well prepared for an emergency in this building. In addition, fire brigade exercises are also required by law,” says Anton Ober, fire protection officer Braunau Hospital. The new building 10, which will open in June, has 16,300 square meters of floor space and space for 158 beds in two-bed rooms and outpatient clinics.
Things are also getting loud in Bavaria
On Thursday, March 14th, a uniform test alarm will be triggered across Bavaria. Selected sirens are tested for functionality – this means that the neighbors can also get loud. There is no reason to worry: this is also just an exercise. In addition, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior will send warning messages to mobile phones via the modular warning system.
