After a remarkable appearance during the PlayStation Showcase, Alan Wake 2 was again unveiled at the Summer Game Fest conference.
Alan Wake 2 reveals its gameplay
It is with a short gameplay video that the title was revealed more. In particular, we were able to discover a passage with the character of Saga Anderson, and the least we can say is that this new opus will play the survival horror card much more than its elder.
The cabin in the woods, already present in the first trailer of the game, is highlighted in this sequence with an oppressive atmosphere. As in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the handheld camera is used to create an immersive survival-horror experience. Saga finds herself confronted by a masked enemy, whom she must dodge while neutralizing him with a flurry of bullets. When she enters the building overgrown with ivy, she realizes that she is trapped in a horror story, before concluding the sequence.
As a reminder, the title will propose to embody two characters in two parallel adventures featuring very different worlds. Saga will have the difficult task of elucidating the mysteries of Bright Falls, while Alan Wake, the tortured writer, will have to face his demons.
Alan Wake 2 will be available on October 17 exclusively on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC. It will be released digitally only and two editions are available for pre-order.
