“Al-Shehri” resolves the controversy • Al-Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: Dr. Saud Al-Shehri, the family doctor, spoke regarding the fact that “monkeypox” invaded the world, and whether it was worse than the Corona virus.

Al-Shehri said, in a video clip via Twitter: “This smallpox has been known for more than 50 years, and this disease is transmitted from animals to animals, such as rats, monkeys, and others.”

He added: “Its transmission is more difficult from animal to human, because it is transmitted through the fluids of this animal, or through feeding on its meat.”

He continued, “This type of disease is scientifically rare, and deaths due to this disease are rare and negligible, from 0 to 1%, and it has developed and existing vaccines for a long time, and it gives protection in case we need it.”

He continued, “If this disease occurs, its medicines are known, and it is used for antivirals. The vaccines that we used to take when we were young, including chickenpox, have a clear role in protecting us from monkeypox.”

And regarding what is said regarding it that it will turn into a pandemic like Corona and spread everywhere, Al-Shehri replied: “It will not happen, because it never has the things that qualify for that.”

The family doctor indicated that the infection of this disease takes from two to four weeks, and then it resolves itself.

He concluded his speech: “I recommend you not to eat the meat of infected animals such as dogs, monkeys and rats and not to come into contact with them, in addition to staying away from hearing bad news.”
