Al-Shabab joined the ranks of the semi-finalists of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, following its victory over its guest Al-Ahly 2-1, today, Monday, in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Al-Shabab will play in the semi-finals with Al-Hilal, who qualified for the same round following winning earlier today, Monday, Al-Nassr 2-1, while Al-Ittihad, which won today over Al-Taawon 2-1, will face Al-Fayhaa team that qualified for the golden box and the winner of Al-Batin with the same result.
Al Shabab advanced through Carlos Junior for Al Shabab in the 49th minute, before Philip Bradrich equalized for Al-Ahly in the 60th minute.
In the 86th minute, Carlos Junior scored the winning goal for Al Shabab from a penalty kick.
The match witnessed the Brazilian Paulinho, the youth player, being sent off in the first minute of the added time in place of the second half, following the referee issued a second yellow card in his face.
