Al-Riffa of Bahrain broke the partnership at the top of Group Two by defeating its host and direct competitor, Al-Arabi Al-Kuwaiti, 3-0, Monday, at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, in the third round of the AFC Cup competition.
According to Agence France-Presse, the goals were scored by Kamil Al-Aswad (56), Hashim Sayed Issa (63), and Brazilian Joel Vinicius (66).
In the same group, Al-Zawraa of Iraq defeated Al-Najma of Lebanon 4-1.
Al-Riffa raised its score to 7 points in first place, compared to 4 for Al-Zawraa and 4 for Al-Arabi, while Al-Najma remained without a score.
