The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi, affirmed that “the more the people move and seriously face the catastrophic reality, the Arab and international community is encouraged to help it and provide the possibilities of change and the means of rescue.”
And he said in the Easter message: “As much as we welcomed the return of our Arab friends to Lebanon, we hope that the Lebanese themselves will return to their Lebanon and abandon their foreign allegiances and their affiliation with projects alien to our history and heritage,” noting that “saving Lebanon with its unity and pluralism is linked to abandoning the artificial and imported roles.” And by restoring his national and civilized role, his authentic identity, his impartiality, absolute loyalty to him, and the unity and authority of the state,” noting that “the hybrid identities that infiltrated our renewed Lebanese identity throughout history must be removed from it as if they were posters and made this identity the criterion for selecting parliamentarians, ministers, presidents and all those responsible for the country.”
Al-Rahi added: “We are betting with citizens of good will that the parliamentary elections will take place on time, and then the presidential elections. It is an opportunity for change,” warning that “if the people do not realize the danger of the stage and choose the forces capable of defending Lebanon’s entity and identity and fulfilling the martyrs of the cause.” The Lebanese people, not the political system, bear the responsibility for the great collapse.”
He stressed that “the results of the parliamentary elections depend on participation in them. There is no loser or winner in advance, and Lebanon needs a parliamentary majority, national, sovereign, independence and fighter, believing in the privacy of the country, the legitimate state, constitutional institutions, and the army as a single reference for arms and security.”
He believed that “the greatest danger is misleading the people, so that they elect a parliamentary majority that does not resemble him and does not meet his ambitions, thus increasing his isolation and his collapse. The new council.
Al-Rahi asked: “Is it possible for us to become a country of decadence when we were the country of the Renaissance that we established and spread in Lebanon, the East and the world? Is it possible for us to become a state of beggary while we were a state of generosity and giving? Is it possible for us to become a group of subservience when we were the reference and example? Is it possible for us to sacrifice the people of acceptance of the fait accompli?” “.
He continued: “We will not accept the cessation of the movement of history and man, because we do not lose the justification for our special and distinguished presence in this region. We cannot change now the role of Lebanon.” The intifada was suppressed and we raised our voices when our mouths fell silent and we stood firm when the aggressors and occupiers were present, so today we will submit, surrender and surrender.
