Al Qaeda leader dies in Afghanistan

Al-Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri has died. He died in Afghanistan.

The respected Gulf newspaper Arab News has claimed with reference to two Muslim countries that Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri died of natural causes.

Arab media have said that a translator closely related to al-Qaeda says that Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri died last week in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province. Regarding his death, he says that he was suffering from respiratory disease and he was not getting treatment for it.

According to Arab News, four security personnel who belong to two Islamic countries, said on condition of anonymity that 69-year-old Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri has died. He said in this regard that we are not allowed to talk about Egyptian citizen Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Al-Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri was born on June 19, 1951 in Egypt. He studied at Cairo University.

According to international media, Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri took command of the Al-Qaeda network after the death of Osama bin Laden in 2011.

According to Arab media, a source close to al-Qaeda in Afghanistan says that Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri has died this month. His funeral was attended by a limited number of his colleagues.
