Sahara News – Deputizing for the Speaker of the Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, Dr. Abdullah Ensour, Deputy Speaker of the Council, today, Wednesday, corresponding to 3-5-2023, sponsored the opening of the seventh annual international scientific conference organized by the Jordanian Society for Educational Sciences in cooperation with Al-Ahliyya Amman University under the title (visions and ideas for hot issues in Education: competitiveness, universality and quality of education in the Arab world between reality and hope) g
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Azmy Mohafaza, the Chairman of the Commission for Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr. Dhafer Al-Sarayrah, and the President of the Jordanian Association for Educational Sciences, Dr. Ratib Al-Saud.
The meeting began with a royal salutation, followed by fragrant verses from the Holy Quran recited by the student, Adam Al-Hadidi. The master of the ceremony, Dr. Nadia Kharbat, began by mentioning the goals of the association and invited the conference president, Professor Dr. The reality of education in the Arab world, and what it needs to grow in light of the challenges it faces.
While the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, welcomed the sponsor of the ceremony, the Excellencies, the researchers, and the attendees from various Arab countries. During his speech, he stressed that the university has always interacted and cooperated with local community institutions in adopting seminars and conferences that would contribute to presenting realistic solutions to the most important challenges facing our Arab societies.
During the speech of the sponsor of the conference, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Nsour noted that education in our Arab world faces difficult challenges in light of global competitiveness, and here it is necessary for the concerted efforts of all concerned parties in the educational process, educational policy makers and cadres working in the educational sector at all levels.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Azmi Mahafza, gave a presentation on the most important challenges facing higher education in Jordan, the Arab world and the world following presenting the current reality. His Excellency the Minister also indicated the strengths that he believes should be exploited and built upon.
Eighty-one researchers from various Arab countries will participate in the conference, which will be held over three days at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dead Sea. It is expected that a number of recommendations will be issued that address issues of global competitiveness in education.
