On the northern shores of Khalid Lake, specifically in the heart of Sharjah, is Al Noor Island located on an area of ​​45,470 square meters, which was developed under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of creating unique destinations in the emirate to connect people with nature, and highlight The artistic values ​​and distinctive architectural styles, with a total value of 80 million dirhams. The destination, in its design, takes into account the blending of culture, arts, entertainment and the magic of nature, making it an ideal meeting place for families, nature lovers and lovers of an atmosphere full of entertainment, culture and beauty.

The island is unique with a mixture of architectural modernity and natural beauty. It represents an exceptional destination with stunning views. In addition to the Butterfly House, the Nour Café, the Court of Arts, and various artistic models, most notably the “UFO Artistic Sculpture” and the “Torus” anthropomorph, include; These are works by international artists selected to match the design of the island, in addition to the games area, lighting and luminous models, and the plant environment. It receives its visitors through a streamlined wooden bridge, along which dazzling lighting extends, and leads visitors to the island, and includes distinctive plants that add an aesthetic character when its entrance.

As for the Taurus art sculpture, designed by international artist David Harper, and characterized by its simple oval shape made of stainless steel, it is a source of attraction for visitors; With its polished and glossy mirror surfaces, it reflects the lights of the island and the surrounding landscape.

Among those sculptures came the artistic “wind images” flags, in the form of banners designed by Austrian artist Monica Gelsing.

In addition to these figures, the Artistic Steel Sculpture, created by Edgar Tysac, is distinguished as a decorative plate.

The island’s landmarks included 16 artistic columns designed by artist Susan Schmogener.

The artwork “The Swing” by the artist Azza Al Qubaisi was distinguished by being a compositional work inspired by the heritage and culture of the United Arab Emirates, and evoking the period of pearl mining in the pre-oil era.

Walk of Light

The island features a 3,500-meter-long walkway that glows with lights that vary according to the time of the day.

Games and maze

The park allocated a large area for children to play in a beautiful and safe natural environment, and to practice climbing on ropes among the grasses and between trees. The games area was designed according to the highest safety standards; Where the floor was partially covered with sand and grass, and lights were used to illuminate the place, enabling parents to monitor their children while they were sitting in their places.

The Labyrinth Garden is designed using walls of natural shrubs, to give children who love exploring labyrinths the opportunity to find the right path in this natural maze.
