Al-Nazaha announces the issuance of a severe prison sentence for the former Inspector General of the Ministry of Health

According to a statement received by Alsumaria News, the Commission’s Investigation Department said, “The Rusafa Misdemeanor Court, which is specialized in cases of integrity, money laundering, and economic crime, sentenced the fugitive convict, the former Inspector General of the Ministry of Health, to severe imprisonment for a period of two years, pointing out that the accused did not hand over official documents, initials, and books.” It belongs to the Office of the Inspector General following the end of his work and his dismissal, and it is kept in his house, indicating that some of the books that the convict kept are original, according to the minutes of the committee formed in the Integrity Commission.

She added, “The court, following reviewing the evidence available in the case, including the statement of the legal representative of the Ministry of Health and the ongoing investigation by the Integrity Commission, as well as the presumption of the convict’s escape, and found it sufficient and convincing to convict him.”

And the department confirmed, “The court decided to sentence the convict, the former Inspector General of the Ministry of Health, in absentia, to severe imprisonment for a period of two years in accordance with the provisions of Article (331) of the Penal Code, and to issue an arrest and investigation order once morest him and prevent his travel outside Iraq, with seizure of his movable and immovable funds.”
