Zamalek club moved away to the top of the Egyptian League standings following its 2-1 victory over the Eastern Company in the 17th round of the competition on Sunday.
Omar Al-Saeed scored the first goal for Zamalek with a left-footed shot from inside the penalty area following a cross from Ashraf Bencharki, to end the first half with a 1-0 lead for Zamalek.

The Eastern Company equalized with an own goal, scored by Mahmoud Al-Wensh, player of Zamalek, in the 65th minute.
In the 90+1 minute, Ahmed Sayed Zizou scored the winning goal for Zamalek with a creeping ground shot from inside the penalty area following a pass from Seif El-Din Al-Jaziri.

In a second match, Pyramids beat El Gouna 2-1, and scored the goals of Pyramids Ramadan Sobhi and Osama Galal, in the 18th and 70th minutes, while El Gouna scored Khaled Qamar in the 27th minute.

The Arab Contractors also won 2-0 once morest Al-Masry Al-Portsaidi, scored by Abdullah Yassin and Farouk Kapoor.

Zamalek is at the top of the Egyptian league standings, and has 41 points from 17 games, winning 13 times, drawing twice and losing twice.

Zamalek is 8 points ahead of Al-Ahly club, which scored 33 points from 14 games, and is in second place, while Pyramids has 32 points from 15 games in third place.
