Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti suffered a calf injury during his team’s match once morest Lyon in the French League, and will therefore miss the Italian national team, which is called to play two matches in the European Nations League.
Italy, the major absentee from the Qatar World Cup 2022, will host England next Friday, before it is a guest of Hungary on the 26th of this month.
Verratti was injured in the middle of the second half of the match once morest Lyon when he had a joint ball with striker Moussa Dembele.
Verratti had gone to Italy to join the national team and reveal the extent of his injury to the Azzurri medical staff, and the latter decided that he was not available to coach Roberto Mancini to play the two matches.
Paris Saint-Germain issued an official statement confirming that Verratti has a bruised left calf. He will be taken care of at the club’s training headquarters,” noting that the medical staff of Saint-Germain “works in cooperation with the medical staff of the Italian national team.”
