Al-Manar Sports website » Tuchel is threatened with penalties after criticizing the arbitration

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has attacked referee Anthony Taylor and the video assistant referee system (VAR) for decisions during the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, which might expose him to penalties.

And with Harry Kane’s header in the last moments, Tottenham grabbed a point in a tense atmosphere at “Stamford Bridge”, which witnessed a clash between Tuchel and Tottenham coach Antonio Conte, and they were expelled following the match ended.

Tuchel believes that Kai Haveritz was fouled during the construction of the attack, from which Tottenham scored the first equalizer, and that Richarlison was offside and blocked the view of goalkeeper Edvard Mendy. He added that newcomer Mark Cucurea was attracted by the hair from Christian Romero, Tottenham defender, before Kane’s goal that settled the exciting equalizer.

“Pulling the hair, staying on the field and attacking at the last corner kick, that has no explanation for me and I can’t accept that,” the German coach told reporters.
“The two goals should not have been counted and we deserved to win, in my opinion.”

An online request that referee Taylor not be assigned to run Chelsea’s matches in the future spread and collected more than 64,000 signatures shortly following the draw.

In response to these demands, Tuchel said, “Maybe it would be better.”

“But we also have the video referee to make the right decisions, but he did not watch that, I don’t blame the referee, I also did not watch, but there are people who run the video referee system to check the footage,” Tuchel added.

“Maybe I will not lead the team in the next match ( once morest Leeds United on the 21st of this month), but the referee can manage the next match.”

For his part, Tottenham coach Antonio Conte admitted that his team still had to close the gap with Chelsea.
“It was a tough match,” said Conte, who twice clashed with Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel during the match and both were sent off following the final whistle.
