Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Croatia international Ivan Perisic on a free transfer. The 33-year-old, whose contract with Inter Milan expired at the end of the season, underwent a medical in London on Monday.

He signed a two-year contract and became coach Antonio Conte’s first big deal before the new season, as the north London club prepares to return to the Champions League next season, following finishing fourth in the Premier League.

Perisic won the Italian league title under Conte with Inter in the 2020-2021 season.

He is well known to the English fans following he scored the equalizer for Croatia in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup when England lost 2-1 following extra time.

Perisic joined Germany’s Borussia Dortmund in 2011, winning the German League and Cup in his first season.

After moving to Wolfsburg, he joined Inter in 2015, where he played more than 200 matches in the Italian Serie A, scoring 49 goals.

He spent a season on loan with Bayern Munich in the 2019-2020 season and won the treble (the German League, the Champions League and the German Cup. With his return to Inter under the leadership of Conte, Perisic won the Italian League title and this season helped his team to win the Italian Cup.
