The Lebanese national futsal team’s journey in the fourth West Asian Championship ended at the borders of the semi-finals following losing to host Kuwait 6-3 to bid farewell to the competitions following a participation that achieved many of its goals.

At the same time, the rice team participated in the current competitions, with a team of most promising elements within the framework of a plan to rebuild a new team. He crossed the first round successfully without any loss, but he was forced to play the semi-final match with incomplete ranks, in addition to the absence of coach Rabie Abu Shaya for receiving two warnings in the first round.

In this match, Lebanon missed his team’s dynamo, Ahmed Khair El-Din and his colleague Mohamed Hammoud, for receiving two accumulated yellow cards in the first round, and goalkeeper Karim Gouidi was absent for the second match in a row due to a muscle tear.

Despite all this, the players performed well despite the vast experience difference with their experienced opponent and superior in terms of physique.

The goals of the Kuwaiti team were scored by Abdul Rahman Al-Taweel, Youssef Al-Khalifa (2), Hamad Hayat, Saleh Al-Fadl and Hamad Al-Awadi. While Mustafa Rahim scored the three goals for the Lebanese national team.

The technical director of the Futsal Committee, Hussein Deeb, who led the team from the field due to Abu Shaya’s suspension, said: “With all certainty, we are proud and proud of what we have presented in this tournament, and we are sure that any player, administrator or coach did not skimp on any point of sweat. It reflected us in more than one place, but the road is long until we achieve the goals we set, and we thank the Lebanese Football Association’s trust.”

As for the national team manager, Raymond Negm, he thanked the players for what they did, considering that the result was more than expected in light of the difference in experience, but the players’ performance made the technical staff covet more and this is normal.
