The British newspaper “The Sun” reported that Scottish Sir Alex Ferguson will return to a managerial position for Manchester United and will be part of a thinking cell that will help the board of directors solve the team’s problems.
According to the newspaper, Richard Arnold, the new chief executive of Manchester United, decided to create a thinking cell that would help the team’s board of directors solve problems, and provide advice and solutions to help return to the top of English and European football.
Sir Alex Ferguson will not be the only one who will return to the team, as the cell also includes English club legend Brian Robson, former CEO David Gill, and director of football John Murtaugh.
The newspaper confirmed that the group of 5 people meets regularly to talk regarding and discuss Manchester United’s problems, and support the board of directors to search for solutions.
