Turkish club Fenerbahce officially announced, on Wednesday, the termination of the contract of German player Mesut Ozil by mutual consent.
And the Turkish club published a statement on its official website, in which it said: “It was agreed to terminate the contract between our club and Mesut Ozil by mutual consent.”
“We wish Mesut Ozil success for the rest of his career,” the statement added.
The 33-year-old former German international moved to Fenerbahce in January 2021 from Arsenal, but was excluded in the spring from the squad following entering into a conflict with the management.
And the new coach of Fenerbahce, Portuguese Jorge Jesus, had previously hinted upon his arrival at the beginning of last June, that he would not reconsider this decision immediately.
In a related context, Istanbul, Turkey’s Basaksehir, hinted at the inclusion of Ozil following the termination of his contract with Fenerbahce.
