Paul Jackel scored the team’s victory goal in the 76th minute.
Stuttgart completed the match with ten men following Serho Gerassi was sent off in the eighty-second minute, and Union Berlin raised the score to the 20th point in the lead.
The two-goal tie ended the confrontation between Hertha Berlin and its Alex Reed, Freiburg.
