Australia finished the group stage of the Women’s Basketball World Cup at the top of Group B after defeating Japan 71 points to 54.
The first half of the match witnessed parity and balance between the two teams, as it ended with the Australians leading by one basket, but the third quarter witnessed a sweeping attack from Australia, during which the players scored twenty points compared to only nine for the Japanese, thus imposing the runner-up of the last edition’s preference and deciding the match in his favour, taking the lead in the group against Canada .
