Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised Erling Haaland as a “perfect person” to manage, adding that the Norwegian might improve even following being named Footballer of the Month for August by the English Football Association.
In the middle of this week, Guardiola compared the Norwegian striker to the late Dutch legend Johan Cruyff following leading City to beat his former team Dortmund in the Champions League 2-1 by scoring the decisive goal at the end of the match in a wonderful way.
Guardiola continued on the eve of meeting Wolverhampton in the eighth stage of the local league, praising his new striker, saying: “He is an exceptional striker, I have repeated this matter several times, but at this age of 22 years, he wants to be better and I think he is able to be better.”
Haaland, 22, has scored 10 goals in six league matches, along with three goals in the Champions League, since joining from Borussia Dortmund this season.
