Muscat: Muscat Municipality has announced that the Al Khuwair Bridge will be closed for maintenance and renovation works. The bridge will be closed till December 31. This has been informed by Muscat Municipality. The road from Sultan Qaboos Street to Seeb will be closed from 10 pm to 6 am. The work is being done in collaboration with the Royal Oman Traffic Police. Necessary reforms have been introduced due to traffic congestion. This was informed by the municipal authorities. The restrictions have come into force since yesterday.

At the same time, the authorities said that services related to identity cards issued to Omani citizens and foreigners will not be available on December 18 and 25. The Royal Oman Police has released a notification in this regard. Municipal council elections are being held in the coming days. In the context of this happening, the authorities have informed that there will be no services related to the identity card.

Services such as issuing new cards, renewing old cards and getting new cards to replace lost cards are absent these days. This was informed by Oman Royal Police. Voting for those outside the country will take place on December 18, while voting for Omani citizens will take place on the 25th. Due to this, it has been decided to stop the services. But the authorities informed that the services related to the Directorate General of Passports and Civil Status will continue these days.
