Al-Khazen: Protecting the country from chaos requires solidarity and solidarity of the political components – Al-Binaa Newspaper

Former minister Wadih al-Khazen warned that “the country cannot continue in light of the exchange of accusations between the political parties on the eve of the upcoming parliamentary elections,” considering that “the spectacle of responsibilities being thrown at each other is neither reassuring nor hopeful that they will be held within the specified time.” In a statement, he asked, “Are transparent, democratic elections held in such circumstances that establish a new phase that stops this deadly collapse, leading to achieving stability at the political, security and social levels?”

He stressed that “it is time to stop bidding by everyone without exception, and adopt new approaches to all thorny issues and find rescue solutions that simulate people’s pain and meet the requirements of the international community,” pointing out that “administering the country and protecting it from chaos requires solidarity and interdependence between the political components.” However, reality gives a different picture from what is required, so that one day we see these components as warring factions, and on another day we see loving couples. Hence it is necessary to have wisdom and insight before the roof of the temple falls, as regret is no longer useful.”

Al-Khazen concluded, “Lebanon is no longer on the top of the decision-making countries’ priorities as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the fires raging in Yemen and perhaps later Lebanon, not to mention the emerging cold war between Russia and the United States and with it the European Union. What is urgently required today is from the political leaders to show, even for once, that they are sane and at the level of responsibility in managing the affairs of the state and the citizen, otherwise Lebanon and the Lebanese must have peace.”
