Al-Khatib is a champion of the Arabs in chess

Playgrounds – The Jordanian national chess player, Ahmed Al-Khatib, was crowned with the title of the Arab Individual Championship, for men and women, which was hosted by the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, with the participation of players representing 19 countries.

Al-Khatib succeeded in achieving the first place following a tie in the last round with the Egyptian international professor Abdel-Rahman Hisham, and he got 7 and a half points out of 9 rounds.

With this coronation, Ahmed Al-Khatib was awarded the title of Grand Master (GM), to be the first Jordanian chess player to obtain this title.

The rising player in the Jordanian national team, Ruba Al-Qudah, won third place in the women’s competition and won the title of “International Professor” with her first participation in the Arab Championship.
