Al-Ahly succeeded in his bold test, during his first match in the Egyptian League, following the decision of his administration headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib to complete the competition with young people and returning from injuries.
Al-Ahly won a wide victory over Al-Ittihad of Alexandria by 3-0 in the match that was held at the Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria, as part of the 29th week of the Egyptian League competitions on Sunday evening.
Ahmed Sayed Gharib, Al-Ahly’s young striker, was among the most prominent young players who drew attention once morest Al-Ittihad, where he managed to score the first and third goals.
The first goal came in the 35th minute from a ball completed by Ahmed Sayed Gharib in the empty net, before concluding the Al-Ahly triple with a header in the goal of veteran goalkeeper Mohamed Abdel Monsef following a cross from Mohamed Ashraf in the 47th minute.

Who is Ahmed Sayed Gharib?
Ahmed Sayed Gharib, born in 2002, is the son of Sayed Gharib, one of Al-Ahly’s junior coaches (coach born in 2003), and plays as a striker and is also good at playing as a winger.
Ahmed Sayed Gharib started his football career at Al-Ahly Club Academy and was chosen in the youth sector, and his name has been circulated in the sports community in Egypt since last year, specifically in August 2021, following the announcement of Al-Ahly’s African list for the 2021-2022 season, which saw his presence among 33 players.
In the Egyptian Club Association Cup, which was held last January, Al-Ahly relied on its substitute players who do not participate continuously, especially since its international players were participating in the 2021 African Nations Championship in Cameroon.

The Arab Contractors and Smouha clubs asked Al-Ahly to obtain Gharib services on loan, but the club insisted on keeping the player.
Ahmed Sayed Gharib may reserve his place in the formation of coach Ricardo Soares at the head of the spear during the remaining six matches for Al-Ahly in the league, especially in light of the injury of Mohamed Sharif and the decline in the level of Hossam Hassan.
