Despite the passing years, Al Horford remains an important player for the Boston Celtics. Aged 36, the Dominican interior does not want to hear regarding retirement and intends to play two or three more years in the NBA.
An essential member of the Celtics and indispensable during the last Playoffs campaign, Al Horford reminded those who doubted that he was far from burnt. In the tough following his stint in Philadelphia and then being shelved at OKC, the interior proved that he still had it under his feet upon his return to Beantown. A team player, experienced, ready to get his hands dirty, a good defender, accurate from a distance, Horford is a player who counts in Boston and an indisputable starter. However, the years pass and we must not forget that the player will be 37 years old next June. While a lot of boys his age prefer to put sneakers away, Horford intends to have fun in the NBA for a few more yearsas he revealed this Monday to Steve Bulpett of the media Heavy.

“Yeah, sure, I thought regarding it [à son futur, ndlr]. I want to keep playing for two, three more years, that’s for sure”.
As we have seen during the last Playoffs, Uncle Al’s legs are still fresh and his head seems to still be hungry for an orange ball. Still, the player is still at the end of the contract and if he wants to continue, he will have to go to the negotiating table. Questioned by our colleague, the player has also confirmed that he sees himself continuing in Boston. Paid nearly 26 million this season, Al probably knows that he will not be able to get such a salary on his next deal but the possibility of playing for the title each season in a team that works very well should motivate him to make some wage concessions. Horford is shooting this season at 11.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 54% shooting including 45% from the parking lot (his personal best) in 31 minutes! And if the pivot saw life in green a little longer?
Al Horford and the Celtics, a marriage to last? The interior sees itself playing for another two or three years and Boston has no complaints regarding its contribution. Robert Williams’ sidekick in the racket might well get extra money at TD Garden.
