Al-Marsad newspaper: Al-Hilal goalkeeper and the former national team, Muhammad Al-Deayea, revealed the circumstances of his professional offer at Manchester United, worth 6 million pounds, and the reasons for his club’s rejection.
During his hosting of the “With Aziz” program broadcast on “Saudi Sports”, Al-Deayea explained the reasons for rejecting the offer, saying: “The offer came in 1998 AD, following a friendly match with England, at Mumbli Stadium.”
He added: The offer reached the club, and it had to vote, and only two approved it, and the rest was rejected. They said, “We are afraid to go down to the first degree.”
When asked regarding his most important decisions if he became president of Al-Ahly club, he said: “Al-Ahly club now, there is no power or strength,” noting that if he becomes president of the club, he will work to change the coach, and bring foreign players at a level in the winter period.
And regarding whether he will renew for “Al Owais” and “Gharib”, he replied: This renewal is for the amounts, sometimes the player asks for a fantastic amount, he says 10 million per year and 9 million, stressing: No Saudi player deserves this amount.
Al-Deayea expressed his dream of becoming a sports teacher, in case he did not become a football player, saying: “All my colleagues from primary and middle school have become teachers, because it is easier.”
