Al-Busaifi supervises the release of 1,057 inmates from reform and rehabilitation institutions

Libya – The Minister of Justice in the caretaker government, Halima al-Busaifi, supervised the process of releasing 1,57 inmates from reform and rehabilitation institutions in various regions.

A press statement issued by the ministry, followed by Al-Marsad newspaper, clarified that the operation took place at the headquarters of the new Reform and Rehabilitation Institution, quoting Al-Busaifi as saying that this matter took place on the occasion of the end of the month of Ramadan and the advent of Eid Al-Fitr, and through the directives of the caretaker prime minister, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba.

According to the statement, Al-Boseifi indicated that the desire exists to pardon and release the inmates, as the ministry spares no effort in taking care of their interests, preserving their rights, and providing all required services in accordance with the standards in force locally and internationally, stressing that this initiative enhances and contributes to consolidating bridges of openness and reconciliation and supporting social and national harmony.

The statement concluded by conveying Al-Bosifi’s appreciation of the role of the justice authorities for their efforts and endeavors in taking and implementing this work.
