Al Barid Bank inaugurated, on Tuesday, its first banking branch in El Guerguarate, thus contributing to the realization of the Royal vision of promoting economic development and urbanization of this area of the Moroccan Sahara.
This new agency was inaugurated by the governor of the province of Aousserd, Abderrahaman El Jaouhari and the chairman of the board of directors of Al Barid Bank, Al-Amine Nejjar, in the presence of the president of the Council of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, El Khattat Yanja, from the Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), Abderrahim El Hafidi, from the Director General of the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, Jabrane Reklaoui and heads of external services, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 48th anniversary of the Glorious Green March.
This initiative is fully in line with the development dynamic of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, driven by HM King Mohammed VI, who affirmed in his speech on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March, that economic actors are called to strengthen their investments in the southern provinces, with particular emphasis on projects with a social vocation.

In this wake, Al Barid Bank and more broadly the Barid Al Maghrib Group, are actively working to offer all Moroccans accessible, useful and fair-priced postal and banking services, reflecting their commitment and constant contribution to the development of the financial inclusion in all regions of the Kingdom.
In a speech for the occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Barid Bank, Al-Amine Nejjar stressed that the opening of the first Al Barid Bank bank branch at the El Guerguarate border post actively contributes to the development of the region, in alignment with the Royal vision for the southern provinces.
Furthermore, this initiative is fully in line with the desire of the Barid Al Maghrib Group in all its components (Al Barid Bank, Barid Cash at Amana) to position itself alongside all Moroccans, as a trusted partner, to give them access to quality services, noted Mr. Nejjar.
The Al Barid Bank group has more than 2,000 contact points spread across the Kingdom, two thirds of which are located in rural and peri-urban areas.
With more than 23 mobile agencies that travel to the most remote locations, Al Barid Bank demonstrates its commitment to favoring proximity to positively influence the financial inclusion of citizens in the different regions of the Kingdom.
