Al-Attar: The Football Association was not intransigent with Al-Ahly regarding the African final stadium

Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Football Association, believes that there is no intransigence from the Football Association against Al-Ahly regarding the final of the African Champions League, and if Al-Ahly sent us a request to host the final of the African Champions League, we would have sent it to the Football Association.

He said in statements to the “Athoud Al Thala” program on Ontime Sport channel: “What happened last season regarding the African final is the same as what happened this season, but the difference is that the party to the match was Moroccan… We addressed CAF more than once that it should be a league final stadium. The African champions are in a neutral stadium for the principle of equal opportunities.”

He added, “We sent to FIFA and asked for their intervention in this decision and that CAF not choose a stadium where one of the parties qualified for the Golden Square, and FIFA responded that it is an internal matter for the African Union, and after Senegal withdrew we submitted a letter that there is a single file that violates the principle of transparency and we submitted a request to host the final match, and it was not We are receiving a response from CAF to the letters that the final will be played at a neutral stadium.”

Al-Attar said, “We submitted 5 or 6 letters to CAF and FIFA regarding the CAF Champions League final stadium crisis.”
