Al Ain City Municipality has finished its preparations for cases of depression and rain by coordinating efforts and a proactive plan represented in raising the level of preparedness and readiness, preparing field teams and resources, and enhancing the efficiency of the rainwater drainage network in the streets and tunnels in Al Ain.
These efforts and plans come to ensure the flow of water during the rainy season and reduce the risks of its gathering, and to provide mechanisms and equipment to deal with emergency situations, in addition to activating the internal and external communication plan with the leadership and support authorities and harnessing all its human and material capabilities and dealing quickly with emergency communications in order to ensure the safety of personnel Society.
The emergency contact teams work throughout the week within 3 work shifts, and the municipality of Al Ain city communicates via the approved electronic safety platform to receive, document and manage reports and work to close them at the specified time, as the emergency office receives public reports on the number 993 within 24 hours.
As part of the Al Ain City Municipality’s preparations to receive cases of depressions and rains, the Emergency and Business Continuity Department worked to educate the city’s public regarding the precautionary and preventive measures in the rainy seasons, through community visits to the councils, which amounted to 10 visits in the various regions of Al Ain City, to educate community members from the owners of the estates and the owners of houses and buildings. In addition to educating young people when visiting wild areas of the need to stay away from landslide sites and valleys run-off areas.
The Municipality of Al Ain City had closed 392 complaints during depressions last year, which varied between reports of water gathering in the main streets, the fall of some directional signs, trees, lighting poles and collapses in some streets, and the municipality’s technical teams worked to open all the main roads and tunnels by 100%.
