Osimhen’s name has recently been linked with leaving Napoli and moving to Al-Ahly Jeddah, amid fierce competition between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea to sign him in the summer of 2024.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, on Friday evening, Osimhen has reached an agreement with Al-Ahly on the financial details, and all that remains is to obtain the green light from Napoli.
The journalist, who is an expert in football transfers, explained that the agreement between Napoli and Al-Ahly is currently pending an additional 5 million euros requested by the Italian club, while Chelsea is closely monitoring the situation.
He pointed out that the Nigerian striker does not have an agreement with Chelsea, while Al-Ahly officials expressed their annoyance with Napoli’s demands, as they informed the management of the southern club not to raise the offer and then head to the English striker Ivan Toney, the Brentford player.
Therefore, Al-Ahly needs to pay an additional 5 million in order to conclude the deal for the Nigerian striker, while Napoli is sticking to its financial demands.
It is noteworthy that another Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, an expert in player and coach transfers in Europe, said earlier that Napoli had reached a full agreement with Al-Ahly Jeddah to complete the Osimhen deal.
Romano added: “It will be a sale deal for a financial consideration ranging between 75 and 80 million euros, and Al-Ahly Jeddah has already set a date for the medical examination of the Nigerian striker.”
