Al-Ahly limits its losses due to the Champions League final crisis

Recent days have witnessed a new move by Al-Ahly club in the crisis of the African Champions League stadium file that was held in Morocco, where the club formed a committee to account for all material losses resulting from the failure of the Football Association to submit a request to host the final of the tournament in Cairo, similar to what Morocco did, which is the decision Which resulted in the team losing the continental title

Al-Ahly lost the final of the African Champions League last season, at the hands of Moroccan Wydad, with two goals without a response, in the match that was held on May 30 at the “Mohammed V Complex” stadium in Casablanca.

Al-Ahly objected to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) assigning the organization of the match to Morocco in light of the presence of Wydad in the competition, but the Continental Confederation responded that it had not received hosting requests from its Egyptian counterpart, to be revealed later on the concealment of the letter “K” regarding the organization of the final.

Losing the Champions League title deprived Al-Ahly of the team’s participation in the Club World Cup, which deprived the club of an initial reward of $1.5 million.

Al-Ahly club incurred a new loss due to the value of the contracts of its players, who contracted with them for their participation in the Club World Cup.

Al-Ahly club lost nearly 5 million pounds in return for bearing 3 thousand pounds in the value of tickets for fans who traveled from Egypt to Morocco to attend the African Champions League final.

Al-Ahly’s loss in the African Champions League prevented him from participating in the African Super Cup, the prizes of which are estimated at nearly 300,000 dollars.

After the full assessment of Al-Ahly’s losses by the formed committee, an official complaint will be submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Olympic Committee to obtain financial compensation, while studying the idea of ​​resorting to the judiciary.
