The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of a number of major figures, most notably Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Hassan Mostafa, President of the International Handball Federation, and the Board of Directors of the Interim Committee of the Handball Federation, headed by Dr. Mohamed Al-Amin.
The tournament is also witnessing a public presence through Tazkarti Company, which announced the opening of reservations to the public to support the teams.
The draw for the Handball World Cup for clubs, which was drawn by Ahmed Al-Ahmar, the star of Zamalek, and Ibrahim Al-Masry, the star of Al-Ahly, in the city of El Alamein last August, resulted in Zamalek falling into the first group, while Al-Ahly chose to be in the second group as the host of the tournament, and the result of the draw was as follows:
Group One: Zamalek, Hungary’s Veszprem, and Brazil’s Taubaté
The second group: Al-Ahly, Sydney University, Barcelona, Spain
Group Three: Saudi Gulf, German Magdeburg, and American California Eagles.
While Al-Ahly will meet Barcelona tomorrow, Sunday, in its second confrontation after facing Sydney, Australia, at the beginning of its career, and Zamalek will meet with Veszprem, Hungary.
