The delegation of the Al-Ahly club football team arrived a short while ago in South Africa to face Sun Downs next Sunday in the first leg of the African League semi-finals. The delegation arrived following an arduous flight that began at four in the followingnoon yesterday, Thursday. The delegation left Cairo and boarded the private plane that landed in transit in Nairobi to refuel.
Al-Ahly club’s roster for the South Africa trip witnessed the presence of Akram Tawfiq, who returned to participate in group training recently following recovering from the long injury he suffered more than 8 months ago in the cruciate ligament, and Karim Nedved was also present following recovering from the injury.
The list witnessed the absence of Imam Ashour due to injury, as the player underwent an MRI that revealed the presence of infections and a mild runny nose in the ankle. Ahmed Abdel Qader, Mahmoud Metwally, Amr Al-Soulia, and Karim Fouad were also absent from travel due to injury and lack of technical readiness.

Al-Ahly received a letter from the organizing committee of the African Football League Championship, stating that the first leg with Sun Downs of South Africa will be held at three in the followingnoon on Sunday in the city of Pretoria, with the return match being held at eight in the evening next Wednesday at Cairo International Stadium.
