The community of Aktaeus is sending out a warning signal, as the problem with the reeds and grasses tends to reach uncontrollable proportions. Typical are the statements made in the “Peloponnisos” newspaper by the president of the community, Antonis Giannakopoulos, both for Poseidonos Street and for other central streets.

If a large vehicle intersects with a car, it is impossible to pass through the main road of the village. In an emergency situation how will one of the two vehicles reverse to pass the other? And with what composure will the driver operate? Right now we are in danger. We have asked the Municipality of Patreon, both in writing and in person, to intervene. We have spoken with the responsible deputy mayor, Mr. Katsakoulis. We have provided photos. We are not asking for beautification, which would be the ideal and the ideal, but for safety. We are trapped. Our community is at risk.”

Antonis Giannakopoulos added the following: “There are issues that should also be resolved on the beach, on Eleftherias Street. A beach, which I dare say has, if not the biggest, one of the biggest visits in our area, due to its proximity and beauty. We have been asking since the beginning of April for the requests and needs of the beach and so far nothing has been done at all. There are also security issues. There are rainwater gutters covered by portable materials. In case of downpour will be created major problems. I do not want to believe that the municipal authority discriminates in the communities of our Municipality depending on what the citizens have voted for. On May 15th they told us they could not come to clean the reeds, a request was made again on May 24th, a request was made again on June 3rd. Our village is crossed by Egnatias Street, a large road with high traffic load. The vertical ones that go out to Egnatias are almost inaccessible. There is no visibility due to the overgrown reeds and grasses.”
