AK Niederösterreich-Wieser: Start the new year with rapid improvements in health care

Securing care for the sick and those in need of care must be the top priority

St. Pölten (OTS) – AK Lower Austria President and ÖGB Lower Austria Chairman Markus Wieser appeals to those responsible in the state government to immediately implement improvements in health care in the new year. “Care, health and prevention must have top priority,” says Wieser, calling for more speed in implementation.

In recent years, the Chamber of Labor has repeatedly and clearly shown what is needed in politics. In particular, Wieser calls for an employment company for schoolchildren and students of health professions (these are employment relationships with social security protection, the right to full employee protection and appropriate pay – like police students) as well as the use of scientific personnel requirement calculation methods for all institutions in order to deal with the overload that has been pressing for years of the staff.

The framework for improving Austrian healthcare is defined by financial equalization and the corresponding agreements. Some AK demands have also been incorporated into the current state government program, but are awaiting implementation. Other training programs are partially financed by the AMS. Overall, there is still a lot of catching up to do. “We have absolutely no time for political tactics at the expense of the population,” said Wieser. The Chamber of Labor is ready to contribute its expertise to those responsible in order to implement constructive solutions.
