The second largest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skin trade in history. Someone actually paid that insane amount for skins!
facts
Developer: Valve
Publisher: Valve
Genre: Shooter
Release: 09/11/2000
A few months ago, the skin collector “Luksusbums” from Denmark offered his “Case Hardened AK-47 skin” from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) for sale. One of the most expensive Counter-Strike skins in the world, the “661 ST MW 4xTT holo” had such a high retail price that even the website had to raise their price cap on skin sales!
The good digital piece was not for sale for a few months. Now Luksusbums actually found a buyer. How Dexerto reported, the Case Hardened AK-47 skin has now sold for over $500,000 as part of a bundle purchase.
Who bought the skin? Well, there is silence regarding that. It is said to be a Chinese player who also owns the “Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore,” a skin worth over $100,000.
In addition to the Case Hardened AK-47 skin, the sale also included the “Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem,” the same knife as the $1.5 million Karambit, but the most expensive skin in CS:GO history the Luksusbums karambit was “only” worth $100,000.
The seller, “zipeL”, tweeted: “I just made the second largest trade in CS history!”
I just completed the second largest trade in CS history! Sold these two on behalf of @Luxusbums

Expensive Counter-Strike skins are nothing new
The amount for this skin sale is of course significant, but skin sales for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are a lucrative business. Transactions in a month can easily exceed $100 million. Good to know that all CS:GO skins will be carried over to Counter-Strike 2.
Most skins don’t cost $100,000 though, they “only” go for a few 100. This particular AK-47, hardened for use, is known for its 661 pattern, which is a beautiful blue color, as well as the four titanium holo decals, each costing around $60,000.
With Counter-Strike 2, which should start in the summer, we will probably have to deal with further skin sales that go into this sum range. After all, just last month, someone paid $150,000 for a “special skin.”
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is available for Steam (Windows PC).
