Ajax wins against STVV in public practice match and this is notable

Sporting spectacle at Wembley from Veluwe
It is great that our club is going back to the country for the necessary practice matches. Bonding with supporters is incredibly important. The preparation is perfectly suited for that. An approachable Ajax is the best Ajax, especially for the younger Ajax players. It was great to see how the stands around the field turned white-red-white.

Amateur association OWIOS went all out. In the program booklet, the host promised us a sporting spectacle at Sportpark Bovenmolen, also known as the Wembley of the Veluwe. The highlight? The gate raffle, where you might win an Ajax shirt and half a pig. You would be lucky to win that, haha!

Code wit-rood-wit
The predicted storm was still far away around kick-off. In Oldebroek, there was earlier talk of code white-red-white. On the freshly mown grass we saw a mix of selection players and talents. Remko Pasveer was by far the oldest at forty. Furthermore, the towering Dies Janse (18) was allowed to show himself once more from kick-off.

The other nine regulars were: Anton Gaaei, Tristan Gooijer, Jorrel Hato, Sivert Mannsverk, Kian Fitz-Jim, Silvano Vos, Jaydon Banel, Julian Rijkhoff and Carlos Forbs. Men like Kenneth Taylor, Jordan Henderson and Mika Godts started on the bench.

Rijkhoff busy coaching
Ajax has not scored yet in this preparation. Farioli’s team previously lost 1-0 to PEC Zwolle. “The result was not as we wanted, but on the other hand it is especially important at the moment to see the progress and to see the ideas reflected in the players,” the coach said beforehand at Ziggo Sport.

In Oldebroek, the Ajax players did not need long to find the net. The surging Hato combined with Rijkhoff, got the ball back and finished. The striker received the necessary instructions from the sidelines. Farioli was busy coaching on the sidelines anyway. We now know that the Italian is quite vocally present.

Forbs with assist and goal
The 2-0 came shortly following the second half had started. Forbs was sent off in depth and passed to Banel, who – in contrast to the first half – finished calmly. Forbs’ name also appeared on the scoreboard shortly followingwards. He chipped the ball over the goalkeeper on a pass from Gaaei.

As it grew darker at Sportpark Bovenmolen, Farioli brought in a load of new players. The line-up following an hour of play: Pasveer, Devyne Rensch, Jakov Medic, Youri Baas, Owen Wijndal, Branco van den Boomen, Henderson, Taylor, Christian Rasmussen, Chuba Akpom, Godts.

Fortunately for the supporters present, it only started to rain following the final whistle. Goals did not rain down in the final phase, but Taylor did provide a beautiful final chord. He was the final station of a fine Ajax attack. After ninety minutes, the score was 4-0.

Ajax will practice once morest Rangers FC on Saturday, following which the team will go to training camp in Wageningse Berg. There, sparring matches with Al-Wasl FC and Olympiakos (private) are on the program. Before you know it, the European diptych with FK Vojvodina will be upon us once more!
