‘Ajax has an eye on Heerenveen goalkeeper Noppert’

Ajax has shown interest in Andries Noppert, reports Football International‘The Tower of Joure’, who excelled at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, is currently the second goalkeeper of SC Heerenveen.

Ajax and Heerenveen are currently reportedly in talks about a possible transfer. A transfer of Ajax goalkeeper Jay Gorter to Heerenveen is also said to be under discussion.

According to VI, the interest in the 2.03-meter tall goalkeeper cannot be seen separately from the influence that Louis van Gaal has on Ajax as an advisor to the club. The two know each other from the last World Cup in Qatar, where Van Gaal surprisingly appointed Noppert as the first goalkeeper.

Second goalkeeper

After that World Cup, the now 30-year-old Noppert ended up in a form crisis. He lost his starting place for a while last season and was not selected for the European Championship in Germany. This season, he also seems to have lost the competition with Mickey van der Hart.

Ajax is also unsettled under the bar this season. Diant Ramaj, who was convincing as first keeper last season, has not played an official match since the summer. Coach Francesco Farioli prefers the 40-year-old Remko Pasveer for the time being.

Medic gone

Defender Jakov Medic has left Ajax. The Croatian will play for Vfl Bochum in Germany next season.

Medic made an unforgettable debut by shooting the ball into the top corner from about thirty meters. Medic quickly fell out of the picture at Ajax after that: he would eventually only play in six Eredivisie matches.
