AJ Ginnis opens up about his threader following his disqualification at the Slalom World Cup in Palisades Tahoe

It would have been a sensation in the Alpine Ski World Cup. AJ Ginnis had shot up from fourth place in heat one to first place in the thick snow in what appeared to be the first victory by a Greek in the history of skiing.

The disappointment of the Greek was obvious, but the sportsman immediately congratulated his opponent on the success.

Ginnis: “Doesn’t look good to me”

In an interview with the Austrian television station “ORF” he was able to laugh once more regarding his mishap. He was amused by the reporter’s comment that he had been the winner for regarding 15 minutes. The 28-year-old commented on the tricky situation from his point of view: “I felt the pole on the outside ski.”

He “thought it was over and made a short swing”.

“I wasn’t 100% sure. Then I thought I’d continue,” said the Greek. However, he fully recognized the organizers’ decision: “It doesn’t look good for me on the videos.” Because of his strength in form, the Greeks can still dream of a success for their great ski hope.
