The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, paid a visit on Thursday to the reference center for early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancers in the Rmila district of Beni Mellal.
This visit comes in application of the High Royal Instructions relating to the launch of a profound reform and rehabilitation of the health sector with the aim of developing the supply of care and health infrastructure, in addition to improving access to services. health for the benefit of the population of the region.
It is also part of the visits to health establishments in the different regions of the Kingdom with the aim of inquiring closely regarding the health services provided to citizens.
Accompanied by the Wali of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, governor of the province of Béni Mellal, Khalid Ait Taleb inquired regarding the various dependencies of this establishment which aims to improve women’s access to screening, early diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancer with the aim of reducing the number of deaths and morbidity associated with these two types of cancer.
This center was built on an area of approximately 500 m², with a total budget of 4,188,376 dirhams, including construction and equipment costs.
A medical and nursing team specializing in obstetrics gynecology, general medicine, and radiology ensure the health and curative services in this center.
This center includes several sanitary and administrative spaces, including 6 medical consultation rooms specializing in breast and cervix examination, a mammography room, an ultrasound room, and another room dedicated to examination. of the cervix, as well as observation rooms, two hospital beds, and a continuing education unit, and other sanitary and administrative spaces.
In a statement to the press, Khalid Ait Taleb assured that a total of 600,000 inhabitants in rural and urban areas will benefit from the services of this Reference Center which reinforces the health offer in the province of Beni Mellal, underlining that this Center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment capable of promoting the early diagnosis of these diseases.
It is also a question of strengthening access to health services to spare citizens the high cost of travel, he said, indicating that this Center has the material and human resources necessary to meet the needs of the populations of this region. area.
The Center also has a state-of-the-art computer system allowing everyone to have a digital medical file that each citizen can present in any establishment whether at local, regional or national level in order to facilitate access care for the benefit of all Moroccans.
Khalid Ait Taleb and the delegation accompanying him then went to the Beni Mellal Regional Hospital Center where he laid the first stone for the expansion of the psychiatry service with a view to increasing its litter capacity pending construction of the Provincial Mental Illness Hospital.
On this occasion, explanations were provided to Khalid Ait Taleb regarding the various health projects underway in the region with a view to strengthening the health supply at the service of the inhabitants of Beni Mellal.
